Nielsen and Scott score goals seven seconds apart in 2-1 victory over Portland
Kennewick, WA., September 9, 2007 - Lindsay Nielsen and Greg Scott scored goals seven seconds apart in the first period to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 2-1 victory over the Portland Winter Hawks Sunday afternoon at the Red Lions Hotels Pre- Season Tournament at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, Washington.

The T-Birds finished the tournament with a 1-1-0-0 record and are now 2-3-0-0 in the preseason.

Nielsen scored at 2:51 of the first period and Scott scored at 2:58 of the first.

Luke Walker scored a power-play goal in the second period to get the Winter Hawks on the board.

Seattle goalie Tyler Esau made 17 saves on 18 shots.

Portland goalie Kurtis Mucha made 32 saves on 34 shots.

Seattle's only home exhibition game is on Saturday, September 15, at 5:30 p.m. at Kent Valley Ice Centre against the Silvertips. Tickets for the only exhibition home game are currently on sale.
